I direct a camera to images which I deformed beforehand into a stain-like state by using my original printing technique. My subject is the boundary between a stain and an image presented there, or, say, the boundary between the disappearance and the occurrence of the image. Whether an abstract form is recognized as just a stain (disappearance) or as an image (occurrence) depends on the dynamics of human memory (oblivion and recollection). Due to the deep connection between human memory and the phenomenon of disappearance/occurrence of images, stains become a metaphor of oblivion, while images are that of recollection. Namely, my artworks attempt to capture the boundary between oblivion and recollection by using this metaphor. This is to capture "places for resisting oblivion".
