坂本淳
写真家。1979年、東広島市生まれ。大阪芸術大学写真学科卒業。現在、広島市を拠点として活動中。作品のテーマは「記憶」であり、全ての作品は「忘却への抵抗」という動機によって制作されている。主な個展は「Domes」(いづゝや商店 / 2023年 / 広島市)、「Continue」(Hirose Collection / 2019年 / 広島市)など。近年の他の仕事に、社会学者・宮台真司氏の著作『崩壊を加速させよ』(2021年)のための作品提供などがある。
Jun Sakamoto
Jun Sakamoto is a photographer born in Higashi-Hiroshima city in 1979. He graduated from the Department of Photography at Osaka University of Arts. He currently works in Hiroshima city. The theme of his works is "memory," and all of his works are created with the motivation of "resistance against forgetting." Some of his notable solo exhibitions include "Domes" (Izutsuya Shouten/2023/Hiroshima City) and "Continue" (Hirose Collection/2019/Hiroshima City). Recently, he has also provided works for the book "Accelerating Collapse" (2021) written by sociologist, Shinji Miyadai.
ステートメント
作品のテーマは記憶。制作する動機は忘却への抵抗。私はイメージを記憶のメタファーとして用います。そして「イメージの消滅と発生」の間を撮影することで、その現象を支える記憶の運動である「忘却と想起」の間を間接的に表出しています。忘れることに抵抗するための場所がそこにあると考えているからです。
Statement
The theme of my artworks is about memory. The motivation for creating them is to resist oblivion. I use images as a metaphor, or as a trigger, to evoke certain memories from viewers. I indirectly visualise something between “forgetting and remembering” that is fundamental to any memory-related phenomena by photographing “between the disappearance and the occurrence” of images. This is because I believe there is a place to resist oblivion in these between-s.
